Former Sole Administrator of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Jumoke Animahun on Sunday March 8th, 2020 held a befitting burial reception and 8th day firdau prayer for the repose of the soul of her departed aunt, Mrs. Aderonke Muslimot Yusuf.
The 8th day firdau prayer and reception was held at the ornate banquet hall of Hardunni event centre, off Sheraton Hotel Link road, Opebi, with notable political figures from Kosofe Local government area gracing the occasion.
The political leaders who came to pay their last respect to the aunt of former Secretary to the Local Government were Chief Temionu, Hon. Tunde Buraimoh, Hon. Sanni Okanlawon, Elder Stephen Oyedele, Otunba Ayodele Alakija, Mayor Dele Osinowo, Alhaja Mosunmola Sofola, Hon. Abayomi Ologbonori, Hon. Musiliu Aigoro, Hon. Abiodun Aigbe, Hon. Tunde Soneye, Hon. Jumoke Dairo, Hon. Francis Busayo, Alhaja Kafilat Ogbara and Hon. Olumide County.
Others are the Kosofe Local Government Councillors, Ward chairmen, APC Youth leaders and Supervisors in Kosofe Local Government.
Hon. Jumoke Animahun in an interview with Kosofe Voice extolled the virtues and qualities of her late Aunt, Mrs. Aderonke Yusuf, during her lifetime, describing her as a caring mother who was the architect of her success and accomplishments.
“She’s my Aunt but a dear mother to me. I cherished her so much. She’s made me what I am today. She really took good care of me. I cannot really measure what she had done in my life. Whatever I am today I think I owe to her in high esteem. I will continue to remember her as long as I live”: she said.
Similarly, the husband of the former Sole Administrator, Mr. Kabiru Animahun paid glowing tribute to Mrs. Yusuf describing her as a sincere, straight-forward and kind-hearted mother-in-law whom he would sorely miss.
His words: She’s a down-to-earth, sincere and straightforward person. A kind-hearted mother-in-law who used to advise and support her children and in-laws, financially, morally and with prayers. We are going to miss her a lot because she’s a lovely peacemaker. Whenever i had issues to settle with my wife, she would put the blame on my wife even though I was at fault. I wish her peaceful journey to her new abode”
But they are not alone, some political and community leaders in Kosofe LGA who shared acquaintances with late Mrs. Yusuf also paid tributes.
Chief Temionu, APC stalwart and Mandate leader in Kosofe LGA said “she lived an exemplary life. I met her with her husband some 45 years ago. Her husband happened to be my childhood friend. We were together in Europe. The woman was a woman that’s very blessed among women, when you talked about character, her behaviour, sound judgement and strict moral. She’s a woman that many of us, particularly those of us who were friends of her husband, loved”.
Otunba Ayodele Alakija described her as “hardworking, gentle and a generous person” while Iyaloja General of Kosofe LGA Alhaja B.B. Balogun said “she was a good mother to us in the community and a strong member of Alasalatu at Anthony central mosque”.
The occasion went on smoothly with no hitches and was very colourful and exciting as relatives, associates, friends and well-wishers thronged the venue of the event in their hundreds with MC Ajose and Seyi crown musical band thrilling the invited guests with hilarious comedy and melodious songs.
