Members of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board were on a courtesy visit to Kosofe Local Government Chairman, Hon. Afolabi Sofola, in his office yesterday at the local government secretariat.
The leader of the team said they were on an appreciation visit to the Local Government Authority, for the patronage of pilgrims to the holy land of Jerusalem through the Lagos State Christian pilgrims welfare board and to solicit more patronage from the local government.
He said further, that the board is passionate in taking people to the holy land of Jerusalem, because it is a form of Christian evangelism to increase people’s knowledge about Jesus Christ and the religion. He reiterated the board’s commitment to have an interactive session with local Government staff and encourage any individual who has the financial clout to do so.
He however apologized for the hiccup which resulted in some pilgrims denial of Visa in 2019, which involved some intending pilgrims from Kosofe Local Government, but assured that the board is already working to regulate this, and seek for the local government authority to always act as guarantor to intending pilgrims to guide against pilgrims absconding, as this has continued to give the country a bad image.
In his response, Hon. Afolabi Sofola looks forward to the board doing the needful to foster good relationship with the local government.
He promised his administration would continue to foster harmonious relationship among all religions to promote peace and love in the local government.
The board presented a letter of appreciation to the Chairman and urged him not to relent in his efforts.
